  1. Law enforcement → peopleEstablishedMinor injury

Police officers use tear gas during the young man's arrest; he then has convulsions. According to the Paris police prefecture, he “was severely affected and immediately taken to hospital by the fire brigade” (translated); according to a police source quoted by RTL, he “reportedly reacted badly to the product and started convulsing” (translated). The two versions differ on when he was gassed: according to several high-school students quoted by RTL, he had “surrendered” when the officers “gassed him in the mouth and eyes” (translated); according to the police source, the gas was a response to firework mortar shots aimed at the officers. The severity comes from the police prefecture; the Bobigny public prosecutor's office states that “his condition is not a cause for concern” (translated).

  2. Law enforcement → peopleEstablishedMinor injury

In videos described by RTL and Midi Libre, the young man, lying on the ground at the top of a flight of steps, is grabbed under the shoulders by two police officers and dragged to the bottom of the staircase, then propped against a tree on the pavement, his body rigid. MP Thomas Portes (LFI) writes that he was “pinned to the ground” (translated). No source links a specific injury to this act alone; the severity (minor injury) is that of the young man's condition at the end of the scene: he has convulsions and is taken to hospital, and the Bobigny public prosecutor's office states that “his condition is not a cause for concern” (translated).

Image of the scene: Noisy-le-Grand: student tear-gassed during his arrest, dragged down stairs, then hospitalised after convulsions

On Tuesday 6 October 2026, in the middle of the morning, on the sidelines of the third day of action of the high-school protest movement, a young man is arrested near the Flora-Tristan high school in Noisy-le-Grand (Seine-Saint-Denis), then taken to hospital after having convulsions (RTL, Actu17, Midi Libre). The coordinates of this entry are those of the school.

According to the Paris police prefecture, quoted by RTL and by franceinfo (reported by Midi Libre), he was “arrested following firework mortar shots” (translated). A police source, described by RTL as a union source, adds that these shots were reportedly aimed at law enforcement, who reportedly responded with tear gas, and that “colleagues gave him first aid” (translated) before the emergency services arrived. Several high-school students state on the contrary that he had “surrendered” when the officers “gassed him in the mouth and eyes” (translated) (RTL, Midi Libre). The firework mortar shots have their own linked entry.

Several videos filmed by high-school students are circulating on X. In the first, shared by MP Thomas Portes (LFI), two police officers drag the young man, lying on the ground, to the bottom of an outdoor brick staircase. In a second video shared by the same MP, he is sitting at the foot of a tree, surrounded by officers; several wear a vest marked “Police municipale”. RTL describes a “rigid” body and a face “that seemed purplish” (translated). A third video, shared by an X account, shows the emergency services and police officers placing him on a stretcher, then in an ambulance; according to RTL and Midi Libre, he convulses at that moment. A young woman filming the scene says: “He’s dying, he’s convulsing… They dragged him down the stairs” (translated) (RTL). A video posted at 10:16 a.m. by the X account French Report shows the same intervention by the emergency services. At 10:08 a.m., the X account Mandat Media posts two videos of the same scene taken from a TikTok live stream, whose clock shows 9:52 and 9:53: they show the young man on the ground at the foot of the staircase, surrounded by police officers, then taken away on a stretcher; the person filming says: “He surrendered straight away” (translated) and “They gassed him in the mouth, in the eyes, even though he had surrendered” (translated).

The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office stated in the afternoon: “His parents are with him. His condition is not a cause for concern. The person concerned is suspected of having taken part in the firework mortar shots at the police officers” (translated); according to RTL, the prosecutor’s office confirms law enforcement’s version “in view of the initial evidence” (translated). The police prefecture adds that he “will shortly be dealt with as part of the judicial proceedings against him” (translated).

MP Thomas Portes writes on X: “A young man arrested, pinned to the ground, seized by convulsions, was taken to hospital” (translated), and denounces “repression and State violence” (translated).

No complaint by the young man or his family is known to date. Press read on 6 October 2026 around 4:30 p.m.: RTL, Midi Libre, Actu17; Le Parisien, Libération and franceinfo could not be read.
