On Friday 2 October 2026, around 8:30 a.m., several dozen young people gather around the Freyssinet lycée in Saint-Brieuc to try to blockade it and set fire to bins (ICI Armorique). The police officers, who came in numbers, prevent them from reaching the lycée, which stays open; the face-off lasts about two hours.
In the afternoon, Le Télégramme describes “the same routine” (translated) as in the morning: protesters gathered near a bin fire, projectiles on the one hand, tear gas on the other. It reports a first stone thrown around 3:19 p.m., then old fruit thrown around 3:30 p.m. The police officers’ charges and tear gas grenades appear in the linked case.
The same day, young people enter the Jean-Moulin lycée, another school in the town: these facts are a different scene and are not counted here.
Clarifications on the sources
- No article read places glass bottles thrown in front of Freyssinet; they are cited only in front of Jean-Moulin (Le Télégramme, 11:24 a.m.).
- Ouest-France (403), France 3 Bretagne and Le Penthièvre: not read.
