Image of the scene: Le Blanc-Mesnil: student reportedly hit by an officer on a motorbike outside a blockaded lycée, per teachers

On Friday 2 October 2026, a student blockade takes place around the Mozart lycée in Le Blanc-Mesnil. In their general-assembly statement, the teachers describe a “calm and festive” blockade at 8 a.m., despite a heavy police presence (translated). They write that, at around 9:30 a.m., rue Alfred-Choquet, “a stone’s throw from the lycée”, a student was “intentionally hit by a municipal police officer on a motorbike, then beaten on the ground” in front of many witnesses (translated); law enforcement then reportedly arrested the young person, and gassed and struck the witnesses with batons rather than calling emergency services. They attribute to this episode the start of clashes lasting about an hour and a half, during which, they write, the police reportedly used “defence balls” (translated) and sting-ball grenades on students, “some were hit” (translated), then, around noon, charged students and teachers with baton blows and gas (a general accusation, with no injured person or specific scene: not counted as a fact).

Blast for its part writes that “at around 10 a.m.” a police officer on a motorbike on the pavement “appears to accelerate with his vehicle to hit a student”, that in the videos it obtained “it is difficult to see the scene of the impact precisely”, that the young person is then lying on the ground, motionless, then appears weakened, holding his nose while being taken away, and that he was finally taken to hospital (translated). Blast does not name the lycée and refers to a teachers’ statement; the two accounts agree (same town, same morning, motorcyclist, student) but differ on the time (9:30 a.m. or 10 a.m.) and on the police force (municipal police according to the teachers, “police officer” according to Blast).

The 24-second video attached to Blast’s message is an edit on which red circles and the caption “they ran a guy over” (translated) are superimposed; it shows a street lined with a fence, then a person on the ground surrounded by officers in dark uniform, one officer facing the camera, then young people being put into a police van. The impact is not visible. No reaction from the prefecture, the town hall, the public prosecutor’s office or the police has been found.
