On the morning of Thursday 1 October 2026, blockades take place in front of many schools in Seine-Maritime. The rectorat states that two school heads, the one at the Élisa-Lemonnier lycée in Le Petit-Quevilly and the one at the Blaise-Pascal lycée in Rouen (another case), were injured and quickly treated by emergency services; it condemns “with the utmost firmness the unacceptable assaults of incredible violence” (translated) of which they were victims (France 3, ICI). The prefect and the education authority head recall that freedom to protest does not justify such violence.
According to France 3 Normandie, which writes “according to our information” (translated), the head of the Élisa-Lemonnier lycée was struck on the neck with a metal bar and was gassed; franceinfo (same France Télévisions group, so not independent of France 3) repeats the same finding in its lead. Also according to France 3, he came back to the lycée around 11 a.m. wearing a neck brace. No source read says who delivered the blow or describes the immediate context of the scene (blockade, intrusion or scuffle).
Follow-up
No complaint, investigation or arrest linked to this scene is reported in the articles read as of 2026-10-05; ICI counts 28 arrests in Seine-Maritime on 1 October, with no established link.
