Image of the scene: Argenteuil: two young people reportedly fired firework mortars at police officers, per the public prosecutor's office

On Thursday 1 October 2026 in the late morning, between 300 and 400 young people are gathered outside the Julie-Victoire Daubié lycée, blockaded since 5:30 a.m., on the Argenteuil slab (dalle). A student from another school is injured in the eye, in circumstances described in the linked entry.

The Pontoise public prosecutor’s office version (statement cited by Actu17 and La Clé Publique): police officers deployed for law enforcement near the lycées reportedly faced two young men, about twenty metres away, who had fired mortars in their direction; two police officers carrying LBDs reportedly returned fire and hit the two young men, who fled. The public prosecutor’s office adds that these elements remain to be verified. A student witness disputes that the injured student was threatening: according to her, he “really had nothing threatening about him” (translated) and was carrying only his course papers (Actu17).

No police officer injured by these shots is cited in the sources read.
