On Monday 5 October 2026 at 2:38 p.m. (Paris time), the X account Mandat Media publishes a 5-second video under the heading “The police reportedly knocked down a high-school student, according to testimonies at the scene” (translated). The message states that “at this stage, the footage does not directly show the moment of impact and the young person’s fate remains unknown” (translated).
The video, filmed on a phone with the overlaid caption “they just knocked him down” (translated), shows a wide sunny avenue with a bus lane marked on the road, trees and smoke in the distance. A young person is lying on the road, motionless, next to two police motorbikes; a police officer is leaning over him, another is walking towards the camera. No shop sign, street name or school name can be read.
This is not the Le Blanc-Mesnil scene of 2 October (lycée Mozart), nor the Marseille one of May 2021 (lycée Le Chatelier): the setting differs.
What is missing to confirm
- The town, the exact place and the date of the scene: the video shows no shop sign, street name or school name, and may predate its publication.
- An independent second source (media outlet, authority); Mandat Media names no witness.
- The young person’s state of health and the police’s version.
- General press searches and reading of the “lycées” sections of franceinfo, 20 Minutes, Actu17, ICI, France 3 (Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, Alsace, Occitanie, Franche-Comté, Côte d’Azur), DNA, Sud Ouest, LyonMag, Lyon Capitale and Marsactu, from 5 to 9 October 2026: no mention of this scene. Local press not read, as the town is unknown.
