In the video, a mobile gendarme handcuffs a teenager behind his back against a gendarmerie van, then has him get into the vehicle. According to the accounts sharing the video, he is 13 and was calm; an X account attributes to his father a testimony on RMC (pinned against the bus stop, handcuffed, more than 24 hours in police custody); this testimony does exist on RMC, but the page read does not mention Grenoble. Image of the scene: A young person presented as 13 years old handcuffed and taken away by mobile gendarmes in Grenoble

On the evening of 2 October 2026, an X account shares a video of the arrest, quoting a testimony attributed to the teenager’s father on RMC: “My son made the mistake of being curious. He was pinned against the bus stop, handcuffed, taken away, he has been in police custody for more than 24 hours!” (translated) RMC published, that same day at 6 p.m., a video titled “My son was pinned against the bus stop, handcuffed…” (translated), whose description repeats these words and adds: “When I hear the minister say ‘our children are in danger’, I feel like telling him: ‘The first danger is perhaps the police!’” (translated). The page read (description only, the video was not watched) names neither the town, nor the age, nor the school, nor the reason for the arrest, and does not say that the man speaking is the father of the teenager in the Grenoble video: that link comes from the X account. If the testimony does concern this teenager, police custody of “more than 24 hours” at the time of publication places the arrest before the evening of 2 October, therefore before the date retained here, which is that of the video’s first broadcast.

On the morning of 4 October 2026, an X account relays a 37-second video bearing the overlaid text “A 13-year-old child handcuffed and taken away, Grenoble” (translated) and the watermark of the Jeunes insoumis de Grenoble Instagram account. The accompanying message claims that the teenager was calm, with no violent gesture or attempt to flee.

The video shows, in a street with a tram line, a helmeted mobile gendarme handcuffing a teenager behind his back against a gendarmerie van, then having him get into the vehicle. Other mobile gendarmes and an officer wearing a “CIOP” armband are present. The teenager’s face is masked by the person who shared the video. No blow is visible.
