Image of the scene: Outside the Déodat-de-Séverac lycée in Toulouse, filmed arrests: police without RIO and hooded, according to the video

On 4 October 2026, an X account posts a 97-second video bearing the overlaid text “Friday 2 October 2026, Séverac, Toulouse” and the note: “no RIO, no body cam switched on and face concealed under a hood, ban on filming” (translated). The message’s hashtags (#saintdenis #pauleluard) contradict this text; the signs legible on screen (“Stadium”, “Garonne”, “Théâtre”) point towards Toulouse.

The video shows police officers equipped for crowd control (helmets, shields, batons) pinning and immobilising several people on the ground and against a wall, a police van in the background. No blow or injury can be identified; the author does not denounce any specific violence, only the failings listed above.

The context of the day is established by two sources. France 3 Occitanie (02/10) writes that about ten CRS riot police vans were parked around the Déodat-de-Séverac lycée and that, around 11 a.m., “the situation degenerated” (translated) when young people tried to force the entrance gates: the CRS “immediately responded with a charge and tear gas” (translated). The Haute-Garonne prefecture, quoted by La Semaine des Pyrénées, reports on 2 October 70 arrests in the department (65 in the Toulouse conurbation), about 1,000 participants in blockade attempts, ten police officers and gendarmes injured, and calls for unverified information not to be relayed. None of these articles describes the arrests filmed in the video, nor mentions an absence of RIO, hoods or body-worn cameras, nor any obstruction of filming: they only place arrests and a CRS intervention at the same spot on the same day, which does not prove that the video comes from them.
