Image of the scene: Paris 17th: video of a “14-year-old” student confronted by police near Lycée Carnot; place and age from the author alone

On Sunday 4 October 2026, an X account publishes a 1 min 46 s video with the text “It was originally a PEACEFUL blockade with no EXCESSES” (translated) and the hashtags lycée, blocus, Paris, manifestation. Captions overlaid by the author throughout indicate: “Thursday 1 October 2026 / Lycée Carnot, 75017 Paris / No RIO no body cam / Student confronted in a corner / 14 years old” (translated).

The footage, viewed for this entry, shows in the street several uniformed police officers gathered around a person on the ground, near a notice board leaning against a wall, then police officers standing on the pavement, bottles on the ground, people filming and speaking to the police officers, and police vehicles. The civilians’ faces are blurred; no blow or injury can be made out, and no RIO is legible. Nothing in the image confirms the place, the date, the person’s age or that the person is a student: these elements are the author’s.

The searches of 4 October found no media outlet or authority (Paris police prefecture, Paris public prosecutor’s office) mentioning an intervention of this kind outside the Lycée Carnot on 1 October. CNews (01/10) indicates that the police prefect had banned gatherings around thirteen Paris lycées closed that day; no source read says that the Lycée Carnot is one of them or links this measure to the video. The articles from franceinfo (ban on demonstrating around closed schools), France 3 Paris Île-de-France (police prefecture tally) and LCP, re-read on 4 October, do not mention the Lycée Carnot either.
