Image of the scene: In Savigny-sur-Orge, a student pinned to the ground by police officers inside the Monge lycée, according to an MP

On Monday 28 September 2026 at 11:48 a.m. (Paris time), an LFI MP for Essonne posts on X a video with these words: “This is what the ‘securing’ of lycées looks like. A student pinned to the ground and arrested inside the grounds of the school, at the Monge lycée in Savigny-sur-Orge.” (translated) She adds that “the choice could have been made to listen to the high-school students” (translated).

The video, shot on a phone through a fence, shows a roadway, pink waste containers and, behind them, several police officers in dark uniform bent over a person held on the ground; passers-by look on in the distance. No face of the person arrested, no blow and no injury is visible, and the footage does not show the start of the arrest.

France 3 Paris Île-de-France picks up the message in its live coverage of the day on lycées in Île-de-France, adding nothing about the scene: it is the same source, relayed.
