Image of the scene: Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône: 14-year-old student filmed kicking a female police officer; prosecutor speaks of blows

On Monday 28 September 2026 at around 10:30 a.m., outside the Château d’Épluches vocational lycée, blockaded that day, a 14-year-old high-school student faces three police officers. The scene, filmed by witnesses, begins with a tonfa baton blow struck at the student by a female police officer; it continues with a police officer’s shot to the student’s face, described in the linked entry. According to France 3 and Actu17, which describe the video, the student kicks back. 20 Minutes describes the same sequence.

According to Le Parisien, quoted by franceinfo, a bottle was thrown onto the roof of a police vehicle before law enforcement used tear gas; the source does not name the person who threw it.

Version of the public prosecutor’s office, quoted by Actu17: the Pontoise public prosecutor states that, according to the initial findings and the examination of the images, the minor “was coming into contact” with a female police officer and hitting her, which she pushed back (translated). A teacher present about ten metres away, quoted by France 3, states that the student had not sought contact; in a statement quoted by franceinfo, teachers at the lycée write that the student was “set upon by several officers, delivering repeated blows to him” (translated). According to the mother, quoted by 20 Minutes, her son was sitting calmly before the police officers intervened.

Follow-up

An investigation has been opened at the Cergy police station for violence against the female police officer (Actu17, 20 Minutes). The consequence for the police officer is not described in any of the sources read. The investigation into the shot, entrusted to the IGPN (police internal affairs), is described in the linked entry. On 6 October, the police officer who fired the shot was formally placed under investigation; in police custody, he justified his shot by a kick received by his female colleague “on the upper leg” (translated) and an arm stretched towards her helmet, which the Pontoise public prosecutor’s office did not accept as legitimate self-defence (Actu17, 06/10/2026).
